Due to the very powerful nature of the upcoming Solar Eclipse on September 1st in the Earth sign of Virgo, it seemed best to present this summary separate from the Summer Solstice Astrology Forecast.
This “Annual” Solar Eclipse is very close to being a Total Eclipse. Yet this phenomena will allow for the Ring of Fire from the outer reaches of the Sun, the source of all light and energy in our solar system, to show itself around the Moon as it passes in front of the Sun. The influence of an Eclipse can last for months, even up to three years.
Astrologically, the chart of this Eclipse has a certain combustable nature to it, as both assertive, aggressive Mars, and independent, radical Uranus in Fire signs Sagittarius and Aries respectively impact the eclipse point. The unsetting nature of this combination reflects further tension and unpredictability following the Eclipse.
But what truly stands out is the influence of both serious and ambitious Saturn, and idealistic but deceptive Neptune, on the point where the energies of the Sun and Moon are exactly fused together. As both the Sun and Saturn relate to the role of the leader, it would seem a certain heaviness will fall upon whoever assumes this role in the future, with many responsibilities, especially in finances and foreign affairs. In fact, it’s as if they inherit a nation in turmoil. With violence and protest, and people continuing to rebel against the status quo, the strength and endurance of whoever is in charge will surely be tested.
Yet what is most troublesome in the Eclipse chart is the condition and nature of Neptune, the planet of no boundaries, being impacted by Mars, Saturn and Uranus. Confusion, a sense of discouragement, not knowing what and who to believe, will test the soul of the people. Yet as Neptune represents Maya, it also can tear at that veil of illusion to reveal reality, especially to those who seek truth, and wish for a better world.
And, what astrologically stands apart from the rather discouraging scenario just described, is a very hopeful connection between intellectual Mercury, loving Venus, and optimistic Jupiter in the Eclipse chart. The energies of Mercury, the ruler of communication, intelligence, and reasoning power, combined with the hopefulness and sense of opportunity of Jupiter, implies that faith, the strength of our values, and a moral compass, will allow for and encourage truth and good judgement to be present and available no matter what.
And with Venus in early Libra quite close to the exact contact between Mercury and Jupiter in late Virgo, seeking harmony and equality, and people just wanting to get along, will allow for a sense of generosity and goodness to be a constant and ever present part of the human condition.
So, it’s as if the difficult and challenging times on the horizon in late 2016 and beyond, just like events of past and present, will bring out the best and worst in humanity, enriching the essential fabric of our society. Above all, whatever the future brings, and whatever we create, it will bring the people closer together, both in our appreciation of one another, and the Planet itself.
