Information Press is an independent California-focused digital news publication covering government, housing, transportation, business, finance, climate, environment, healthcare, education, technology, consumer affairs, and community developments. This page explains our advertising approach, what commercial formats are and are not available, and how to contact us about relevant questions.
Editorial credibility depends on readers being able to distinguish reporting from commercial messages. Advertising relationships must not determine independent coverage, factual conclusions, corrections, or editorial rankings.
Current Advertising Model
Information Press uses Google AdSense for display advertising. Advertisement availability and delivery are governed by the provider's rules, site configuration, and available inventory. Using the service does not establish a particular level of advertising revenue or a guaranteed placement for any advertiser. Advertising inquiries do not create a commitment to accept or display a particular campaign.
Google AdSense displays third-party advertisements alongside editorial content. Ad delivery and selection depend on the platform's policies, consent settings, and available publisher controls. An advertisement does not constitute an editorial endorsement of the product or claims displayed.
Advertising Formats: Current Availability
Information Press uses Google AdSense for display advertising. Availability, creative formats, placement, ad delivery, and technical controls may depend on Google's systems and the website's actual configuration.
Information Press does not currently operate an established program selling direct advertising placements. Questions about future possibilities may be directed to our advertising contact, but inquiries do not imply that a placement, campaign package, or published rate card exists.
We do not currently accept paid sponsored articles, advertorials, branded editorial features, sponsored interviews, or paid partner content. A company may submit factual material for editorial consideration without payment or any guarantee that it will be published.
We do not currently use commission-based affiliate links or offer lead-generation services as a monetization format. We do not sell favorable reviews, positive recommendations, or editorial rankings.
Information Press does not currently operate a reader newsletter, paid subscriptions, member accounts, or commercial email newsletter campaigns. These formats should not be represented as available inventory.
Advertising Standards and Restricted Claims
Commercial messages should not be fraudulent, unlawfully marketed, deceptive, or designed to misrepresent their origin. Particularly sensitive advertising claims involving health, financial products, legal services, insurance, housing, and personal safety merit caution because readers may make consequential decisions using such information. Particular care is needed when an advertisement could be mistaken for verified information about an important financial, health, legal, or safety decision. Promotional language and independently checked reporting serve different purposes.
Information Press may seek to restrict inappropriate categories or misleading creatives through controls available in its advertising service. Actual ad review and delivery can also depend on Google and the relevant advertisers. We do not claim to manually approve every creative, control every ad that third-party technology might serve, or have a finalized exhaustive list of accepted and rejected categories that has not been provided.
In general, promotional material should not falsely promise medical cures, investment results, guaranteed legal outcomes, or other unsubstantiated benefits. Commercial claims should be substantiated as required by applicable provider rules and standards. An ad's presence never converts its claims into verified editorial reporting.
What Advertising Cannot Buy
Advertising and Editorial Independence
Advertising relationships do not control story selection, source evaluation, analysis, headlines, review conclusions, or corrections. Advertisers cannot purchase favorable coverage, a positive editorial opinion, publication of unsupported claims, or suppression of accurate criticism. The same boundary applies when coverage concerns a prospective advertiser, an existing market participant, or a company seeking to respond to criticism. Commercial interest alone does not establish either newsworthiness or factual accuracy.
The publisher remains responsible for independent editorial work. Decisions about whether to cover a business or product should be based on its relevance and available evidence, not the size of a prospective advertising budget. If relevant commercial interests could reasonably affect a reader's understanding of content, appropriate disclosure should be considered.
Rankings, Reviews, and Commercial Influence
Information Press may publish independent rankings, reviews, comparisons, and consumer guides covering financial products, insurance, technology, housing, education, transportation, and services. Such articles are governed by relevant criteria, documented information, disclosed limitations, and editorial judgment.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position. Companies cannot purchase a higher score, favorable recommendation, positive review, premium editorial profile, or inclusion in a “best” list. We do not currently use affiliate commissions to fund these articles.
A research-based review should not claim firsthand testing unless testing actually occurred. Evaluation methods and source dates should be explained, especially for changing prices, insurance terms, financial rates, and other consequential matters. See Rankings and Reviews Methodology .
Advertising Identification and Reader Privacy
Clear Commercial Identification
Readers should be able to distinguish advertisements from independently published articles. Display placements, where active, should not imitate editorial bylines, source credits, or standard article presentation so closely that the distinction is unclear. The reader should be able to understand whether a visible message is a commercial placement or part of the publication's own reporting. The difference should not depend on assuming that every adjacent claim has been editorially verified.
If commercial publishing formats are ever introduced, paid content must carry an unmistakable label suited to its actual nature, such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored.” A future change in policy would require an updated disclosure; this paragraph should not be interpreted as an offer of sponsored content today.
We do not present advertiser-submitted material as original independent reporting without editorial assessment and accurate attribution. Press releases used as sources should be treated as promotional or organizational statements until important claims have been verified.
Advertising Privacy and Cookies
Advertising systems may use cookies and similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, security, frequency management, and personalization where permitted and properly configured. Website visitors should be able to understand the relevant use of optional technologies through the cookie notice and our privacy disclosures.
Information Press uses a consent banner intended to offer Accept All and Reject Optional choices. Actual operation must ensure that optional cookies and advertising features obey applicable consent requirements and the website's implemented settings. Non-personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that no technical data are processed.
Information Press uses Google Analytics for audience measurement, and Google Search Console supports search performance analysis. Search Console does not itself imply a visitor-side tracking cookie. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for further information.
Business Submissions and Reader Concerns
Press Releases, News Tips, and Company Statements
We may consider company announcements, public records, academic studies, product documentation, or relevant expert comments as possible sources. Such submissions are reviewed for newsworthiness, source reliability, public interest, and suitability for our California-focused coverage. A press release or company document can provide a useful lead or establish what the sender has publicly said. It does not automatically prove independent claims about results, quality, market position, or customer outcomes.
Submitting a news release is not a purchase of coverage. We do not guarantee that an announcement will be featured, quoted, linked, written favorably, or published by a particular deadline. We do not promise traffic, search rankings, clicks, leads, or any other performance result for an editorial article or prospective advertisement.
For independently assessed story suggestions or source material, write to earthday@informationpress.net , not to the advertising address when seeking news consideration. Material interests should be disclosed when relevant.
Accuracy, Corrections, and Advertising Complaints
Readers can report advertisements they believe are misleading, inappropriately labeled, or confused with editorial material. Provide the page URL, an approximate date or description of the ad, and relevant context. Where advertising is managed by a third party, its own reporting or review mechanisms may also apply.
Advertisers cannot use commercial pressure to require deletion of factually supported articles or to avoid a correction of inaccurate reporting. For errors in editorial content, use corrections@informationpress.net . For advertising complaints, use advertising@informationpress.net .
