Contact Information Press about news tips, corrections, advertising, partnerships, or general editorial questions using the appropriate email.

Information Press welcomes relevant inquiries from readers, sources, researchers, public agencies, businesses, and organizations. We are a California-focused digital news publication with a particular connection to San Luis Obispo and the Central Coast, covering government, housing, transportation, finance, climate, healthcare, education, technology, consumer affairs, and community developments.

Email is the primary way to contact the publication. This page explains which address to use, what information is helpful, how submissions are evaluated, and what readers should not assume when contacting us. We do not require a website account or operate a public contact form.

General questions

For general questions about Information Press, website navigation, publication information, or other matters that do not fit a specific category, email earthday@informationpress.net. Please use a clear subject line so the purpose of your message is apparent. Directing a message to the relevant address helps distinguish an editorial question from a correction request, advertising inquiry, or proposed collaboration. A clear subject line and a link to the relevant page can make the issue easier to understand.

General messages may concern our publication's coverage, public-facing policies, broken links, technical accessibility, or a request to locate information. We may direct a matter to the most appropriate editorial or operational contact. An email address listed here identifies an intended channel; availability should be confirmed before publication of this page.

Story ideas and editorial requests

Editorial suggestions, document references, factual questions, and relevant news tips can be sent to earthday@informationpress.net. Information Press focuses primarily on California and important United States developments affecting its readers. Proposals are most helpful when they identify why a subject matters, who is affected, and what credible information is available.

Receiving a tip does not guarantee that Information Press will investigate or publish it. A press release, promotional claim, or company statement is not automatically independent news. We evaluate suggestions based on relevance, supporting evidence, potential harm, and editorial priorities.

Factual corrections

For an error in a published article, use corrections@informationpress.net rather than a commercial address. Please provide the article URL, the passage at issue, an explanation of the suspected error, and supporting documentation or an authoritative reference. Include contact information if clarification might be necessary.

The publication distinguishes a correction of a verified factual mistake from a clarification of incomplete or potentially misleading wording and an update based on later developments. Significant corrections may receive an explanatory note. Minor spelling or formatting changes may not. The evidence supporting a claim determines whether action is appropriate; disagreement or reputational discomfort alone does not establish an error. Read our Corrections Policy and Fact-Checking Policy for details.

Advertising matters

Questions concerning advertising policies, eligible ad categories, commercial disclosure, or problematic advertisements belong at advertising@informationpress.net. Information Press uses Google AdSense for display advertising. We do not provide a guarantee of placement, inventory, or advertising results.

We do not currently offer paid sponsored articles, paid reviews, affiliate-link promotions, paid ranking positions, or direct advertiser purchases of editorial coverage. Advertising relationships do not control editorial conclusions. A commercial inquiry does not guarantee availability of ad inventory or acceptance of a campaign. See Advertise, Advertise With Us, and Sponsored Content Policy.

Partnerships and media requests

Send research collaboration proposals, data partnerships, media inquiries, possible syndication arrangements, or event-related questions to partnerships@informationpress.net. Explain the organization involved, the proposed activity, the intended audience or public value, relevant supporting resources, and any financial terms or interests.

A proposal is not an established relationship. Information Press does not promise coverage, endorsement, editorial access, or favorable evaluation in exchange for collaboration. Any proposed joint activity must preserve the distinction between editorial judgment and commercial interests. Unconfirmed media kit metrics, circulation numbers, social reach, and professional partnerships are not represented as facts.

Prepare an Editorial Tip

What to Include in a Story Suggestion

  • A concise description of the issue, event, public decision, or question. A tip is most useful when it identifies a specific development, the place and time to which it relates, and the source of any supporting information. The publication must still evaluate the material independently.
  • The relevant California community, agency, company, or geographic area.
  • Dates and names, where accurate and important.
  • Links to official records, research, datasets, statements, or other evidence.
  • An explanation of public interest and possible reader impact.
  • Any relevant connection you have to the subject, including a paid or commercial relationship.

Specialist Input, Privacy, and Sensitive Information

Expert Comments and Source Submissions

People with relevant expertise may send factual explanations, research references, public records, or critiques of the interpretation of available data to our editorial email. Please identify your relevant background and disclose material professional or financial interests. A qualification does not automatically validate every statement; important claims remain subject to checking. Please distinguish what you know firsthand from what you have heard from another person or inferred from a document. That distinction can help prevent unverified allegations from being mistaken for established evidence.

Information Press prefers attributable sources. Anonymous sources are considered rarely, only under strict editorial conditions and meaningful public-interest justification. Standard email is not a guaranteed secure channel. Before providing highly sensitive material or requesting anonymity, review our Unnamed Sources Policy. Sending unsolicited material does not establish confidentiality by itself.

Privacy, Confidentiality, and Professional Advice

Please avoid emailing passwords, payment-card details, unnecessary identification documents, highly sensitive health records, or other private material not required for your question. Emails can contain sender details, submitted documents, and information necessary to process a request. Consult our Privacy Policy for how relevant information may be handled.

Information Press provides general editorial information, not personalized medical, legal, financial, tax, investment, mental health, safety, or other professional advice. We do not diagnose conditions, assess individual legal cases, make investment decisions on a reader's behalf, or act as an emergency-response service. For immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency or public authority rather than waiting for a publishing response.
