Environmental Justice 1 article

Environmental risks are not distributed evenly across neighborhoods or communities. Industrial siting, traffic pollution, poor drinking water, and cumulative exposures can place greater burdens on people with fewer resources or less influence over decisions. Permitting processes, enforcement, public participation, and cleanup funding shape possible remedies. Communities closest to multiple sources of pollution often seek a voice in the permits and investments that affect them.
