Malibu 1 article

Malibu follows the Pacific Coast Highway along a narrow stretch of Los Angeles County shoreline below the Santa Monica Mountains. Point Dume, Malibu Lagoon and the surf break at Surfrider Beach are familiar natural landmarks, while Pepperdine University occupies hillside land overlooking the coast. Canyons and steep slopes limit road connections inland. Wildfire evacuation, coastal erosion and protection of lagoon habitats shape the geography of this largely linear coastal city.
