East Bay 1 article
The East Bay is the part of the San Francisco Bay Area on the eastern side of the bay, centered on Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond and Fremont occupy varied shoreline districts, while Walnut Creek and other inland communities lie beyond the hills. BART, bridges, port facilities and regional parks connect a broad urban landscape. The term denotes a metropolitan subregion, not a single city, and its boundaries vary somewhat across agencies and everyday use.
